Account Executive

RJM is looking for candidates for an account management role within the agency. This role is responsible for maintaining relationships between both prospective and current clients and the agency. Account managers listen, guide, advise and manage these relationships to deliver effective strategy, creative, and production materials in a timely fashion. You’ll work closely with the creative team to develop budgets, strategies, communications plans and see those through final production and success reporting to the client.

This position will also participate in attending conferences, trade shows, and new business presentations both virtually and in-person. They will work closely with the President and creative team to develop marketing material for the agency.

This would be a full-time position offering a hybrid working arrangement. All candidates need to be located with the ability to commute for on-site client meetings in Jackson and southern Michigan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day contact with clients ensuring that relationships are strong and any needs are met
  • Actively pursues opportunities where the agency can help clients
  • Develops strategic marketing plans
  • Develops media plans and handles media purchasing on behalf of client
  • Interfaces with the creative team to move jobs through the agency
  • Ensures that creative production is on client strategy
  • Carries out client marketing plans
  • Writes and inputs creative briefs, job orders, production schedules, and change orders
  • Effectively presents, sells, and defends all agency work/proposals to clients
  • Keeps informed on client’s industry, brand, products, services, competitors, and marketing
  • Handles the agency as a client managing process and timelines for new business efforts
  • Attends conferences and trade shows on behalf of the agency as needed

Job Requirements

  • College degree in advertising management, advertising, marketing or similar
  • The role will be structured as an Account Coordinator for anyone with 1 – 2 years of agency or client side experience in an account service role
  • The role will be structured as an Account Executive for anyone with 3 or more years of agency or client side experience in an account service role
  • Excellent people skills in dealing with a wide variety of personalities and working styles
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Experience in an advisory role with clients or in a sales setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of digital and traditional media
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong project management skills
